2019 / 2020 Canadian Powerlifting Union Student Scholarship Program
The CPU is now accepting applications for the fifth annual CPU Student Scholarship program for the 2019 / 2020 post secondary year where the CPU will award up to a maximum of 5 annual student scholarships of $500 each.
To be eligible, applicants must be a) CPU members in good standing and must be either entering their first year of post-secondary education, in a full-time post-secondary program at an educational institution which includes cégeps or b) enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program at an educational institution which includes cégeps. Previous Scholarship winners may not re-apply.

A complete application must include the following:
- Copy of an official transcript of marks from the learning institution most recently attended (an electronic photocopy of a transcript or a screen shot of the most recent marks is sufficient).
- Statement about the applicants involvement in powerlifting, including but not limited to, accomplishments as an athlete, volunteerism, future goals and any significant contributions to the sport. A statement about why the applicant should receive the scholarship, with future education and career goals, and also what powerlifting means to them.
- Applicants may submit letters of reference.
All applicants, successful or otherwise, will be notified by the Evaluation Committee. Awards will be applicable to the academic year commencing in September 2019. The successful candidates will be notified by mid-November 2019. A cheque will be forwarded to the successful applicant once confirmation of enrollment in a post-secondary institution is received.
The CPU may use photos and names of recipients in promotional material.
Basis for Selection
Awards will be granted by an impartial selection panel.
