Welcome to the 2026 Canada Powerlifting National Team for

IPF Classic Open World Powerlifting Championships in

Druskininkai, Lithuania!

Dates: June 13-21, 2026

Please save this link for referencing important information, tasks, and deadlines that are requirements for competing on this team!

Once you have read through this page, please follow the link at bottom to accept your place on the team.

Requirements

We are excited that you have been selected for this team, however remember that along with this privilege come responsibilities and commitments.

You MUST have a valid CanPL membership that does not expire throughout this process or through to the end of the entire competition. You can renew your membership at any time HERE.  If you do not have a valid membership for whatever reason during the event, any records you set will not be be validated within CanPL.

You must comply with all CanPL rules and policies before and during the competition. Failure to do so may result in your removal from the team. CanPL’s High Performance Policy can be found here.

Please note, as stated on the National team application form, if you are selected for a Sub Junior, Junior or Open Classic team spot, you are required to order the team kit and wear it on the platform, in full, at your international event. Failure to do so will result in the Head Coach having the authority to remove you from the team.

DEADLINES

Team Fees of $300.00 will be due by: April 13, 2026

 

After accepting your position on the team, you will receive an email from the Canada Powerlifting Treasurer. Please keep a watch for this in your inbox and/or your junk mail.  

 

It is your responsibility to look for this and not hers to chase you.

 

Keep an eye out and send in your team fees. If they are not received by the deadline you may be removed from the team.

Weight Class Change Deadline: May 18, 2026

 

You MUST notify me by email at championshipsecretary@powerlifting.ca 

SUBJECT LINE: WEIGHT CLASS CHANGE

should you wish to change your weight class NO LATER THAN the date above, which is 35 days from comp date. Please note that not all requests can be granted should the weight class requested not have space.

While the IPF Rule is 21 days out, CanPL requires 26 days out to have time to determine if the change is possible, enter the change, and verify that it has been received.

 

You have a role in this!

 

Once the change is completed, I will reply to your email that this has been done. It is then your responsibility to check on the Goodlift website that your information is correct.

 

Please report any errors to me immediately.

The CanPL National Team Agreement

 

This agreement MUST be completed online at this link within 7 days of the date your invite was sent.

 

This again outlines your responsibilities as an athlete on this team.

 

Failure to return this within the 7 days mentioned WILL RESULT IN YOUR DISQUALIFICATION from the team without further notice.  Please complete this immediately.

The Travel Form

 

This MUST be completed online at this link by April 10, 2026.

Would you like your coach to be there with you?

 

If so, they MUST apply using the link below ands fulfil ANY AND ALL of the requirements outlined by the CanPL Coaching Committee. The deadline for coaching applications for intern coaches is April 1, 2026.

TEAM CANADA TRACKSUIT

 

The Team Canada tracksuit is MANDATORY to be worn on the platform for the medal ceremony following your lifting session, at Opening Ceremonies and any time your are representing our team at the event. Older tracksuits are acceptable as long as they are in good condition.

PLATFORM UNIFORM

 

SBD Canada generously provides sponsorship to Team Canada athletes by offering select SBD team kit packages at a sponsored discount based on the international team you have been accepted to.

TEAM CANADA T-SHIRTS

 

Available for pre-order only.
Deadline APRIL 18, 2026

This t-shirt will be custom made for the 2026 IPF Classic World Championships. Available in a unisex or women's fit in black or red with this custom design for the 2026 CanPL National Teams on the front, and the event details on the back of the shirt. 

You do not have to be on the team to order one of these shirts.

Please note: items ordered on the same order as these tshirts will not ship until the tshirts are ready (approximately May 23).
